by on May 11, 2012

National Planning Achievement Award for a Hard-Won Victory Candlestick Point-Hunters Point Shipyard Phase II EIR California The Bayview Hunters Point community of San Francisco was challenged by unemployment, extreme poverty, and high crime rates. Bayview was ranked by the Department of Justice as one of the 10 least advantaged locations in the US The Candlestick Point-Hunters Point Shipyard Phase II Project goal is to revitalize the community through multiple channels, including maximizing reuse of a naval shipyard (a Superfund site); increasing business and employment opportunities; providing housing options at a range of affordability levels; and integrating transportation. After a 30-year public outreach and community planning process, it was imperative that the project produce tangible benefits for the community. To analyze the environmental impacts of the project, the team was confronted with a number of challenges including ongoing hazardous materials cleanup at a Superfund site; addressing sea level rise; assessing biological resources; and phasing of parkland and infrastructure improvements with project development. The result is a 10-volume environmental impact report that is now being used by the city as a "model environmental document." The report also took into account the history of the community, and the massive direct environmental impacts, and the prospect of creating a metropolitan neighborhood that must be assimilated into San Francisco.

500 for 3 hours – hahahahahahaha

Sorry couldn’t help that.

You are a beginner. An experienced model would be lucky to get that sort of rate for the majority of their jobs.

Try knocking that down to about $20 per hour unless you are doing full blown hardcore porn and even then $500 for stills is more than the day rate most will get.

I emailed a well-known photographer that I admired, sending him pictures and saying that I would love to do work with him. I am an aspiring model. He replied saying that he likes my look and is interested too, and asked what my rates are..he also said all jobs pay money… But what am I to say, because I never modeled and gotten pain for it and I have no clue what kind of price range to suggest.

Of course I want to make money from this, and the more the better…

any suggestions on how to approach this or any experienced models or people in the field?

Tell him a range you would be comfortable with. Then, ask him what he would recommend and don’t fight it- agree. If it were anyone else I would say don’t let him choose, for he will take advantage, but he is a well known photographer- even if he underpays, you will be able to put on your resume that you worked with this photographer which can help you, and he can probaby give you some advice and ideas of rates for your future jobs.

I am looking for somebody who knows what they are talking about, not a smart ass kid. What are fair rates to charge a photographer for different types of modeling? I am 24, very fit, experienced, and professional. I am just tired of playing the guessing game with different photographers, I want to set solid rates.
Thanks!

There is no such thing as solid rates.

The rates will be determined by their usage. The same exact photo session can command vastly different rates based on a wide variety of factors. Some of which is the client. The prominence of the person in the shoot, The distribution, The longevity of the ad, whether or not there is a buy out, whether or not the is ad is exclusive. The market it is used for and there are many more factors.

For example: We used people in the background for a VW spot. These pictures were only going in a catalog. The price we paid was $2500 dollars for the day. Now if these same exact pictures were going to be used in an billboard the rates would of been closer to $20,000 per day.
If these pictures were created to run only in some small town news paper the rates may have been only 200 per day.

The rates could even be higher if it was a top model.
Now to determine what to charge. If you are working all the time then your rates are probably to low. This actually hurts you as people will learn they can get you cheaper. However if you only work once a week then you do not have too much leverage on the market place and what your price should be.
Find out what the usually going rate for a shoot in your market and then stick to it. Try to get our of the hourly rate that smaller markets sometime like to use.
Even as a photographer I never ever charge an hourly rate. I either have a day rate or a session fee.
Good Luck

I know an integral represents the area under a curve, and the derivative models the rate of change.
Now what does the integral model?
dE/ ds = F, the rate of change of force with respect to position(displacement) is Energy.
Then
int(F)(ds)= E + c, the integral of Force with respect to position(displacement) is Energy. Is there another way to say integral, that is more clear, so I can arrive at a better definition of Energy, other than “the ability to do work”.

First things first. What tipe of modelling? How much experience do you really have? How good are you really? How much do you think your services are worth per hour? It’s difficult to answer your question without having the privilage of viewing your work. Maybe post a link where all can see and then perhaps try to help you out.

The answeres given to you by others are only average guidelines according to the work they do, but bear in mind, if you are going to do artistic nudes; implied nude, etc. , you should charge more. If you have an extensive portfolio you are also in a wonderful position of charging more. Check with some photographers on the average rate they pay for models.

A wonderful site is Model Mayhem. http://www.modelmayhem.com. Register there, it’s free and will get you in to contact with plenty models, photographers and makeup artists who will be able to help you.

I’m planning on modeling for an artist, but they want to know my rates. I’ve never done it before so I don’t know what I should charge. Basically they want one semi nude shot to paint from. I don’t want to get screwed over. What would be a fair rate?

ask around, $20.00 was the rate when I was painting, are you signing a contract will they do a w-4 and take out taxes if so ask for more if it is cash just say $20 and hour

My friend is applying to model t-shirts for a website but they want to know her rates. She has no experience and doesn’t know what she should ask for. They’re a small company just starting out. What do you think?

Reply

RoyH May 12, 2012 at 12:26 am

She could ask them what their budget is.

I’ve worked for as little as $150 a shoot for several hours, to $800, for half an hour.

They are a small company, and she’s new too.

She could just work for tee shirts, and a commitment that she’ll be their regular model and spokesperson.

So I recently got into modeling and a photographer contacted me inquiring about my rates. Since I’m still an amateur, I’m not sure what to tell him. He said he really likes my look and he has his own gallery in the financial district of Boston. What should my going rates be?

It’s not nudes, it’s a glamor shoot.

yeah, more like the red light district. remember when you set your price that the pimpographer will be taking a cut. always remember, extras are extra.

is that what they are calling it now? the times sure have changed.
